Record a User's Name

About this task

For any new or changed recorded name to be updated, you must have the Updates In: field set to y on both the Edit Messaging Server page (Under Server Adminstration, select Messaging Server Admin) and the Edit Networked Server page (Under Server Adminstration, select Networked Servers). You also must have the Updates Out: field set to y on the Edit Networked Server page.

To record a remote user name:

Procedure

From any telephone, log in to the messaging administrator's mailbox.
Press 9 to access the system administrator's menu.
Press 4 to record the remote user names.
The system plays the following message:

"Enter remote user extension and pound sign."
Enter the extension for the remote user and press #.
At the tone, speak the user's name.
Before you approve the recording, you have the following options:
- Press 2 3 to listen to the remote user name recording.
- Press 2 1 to record the remote user name again.
- Press * D to delete the remote user name recording.
When you are satisfied with the quality of the recording, press # to approve it.
Repeat Step 4 through Step 7 to record the next remote user's name.
When you finish recording all remote user names, hang up the telephone.
