Performing a System Restart

About this task

Note

Avaya recommends that you restart the messaging system at least once every 90 days. The restart refreshes Linux® operating system resources and keeps applications running reliably.

Note

You cannotrestart your system if a backup is running.

To perform a restart:

Procedure

Log in to the Communication Manager System Management Interface.
The system displays the Communication Manager System Management Interface web page.
Click Server (Maintenance) under the Administration menu.
Select Shutdown Server under Server.
The system displays the Shutdown This Server screen.
Click on the Delayed radio button to wait for messaging subscribers to logoff or Immediate to shutdown immediately.
Select the Restart system After shutdown option blank.
Select Shutdown even if this is the active server since this is the only server for messaging.
Click the Shutdown button.
The system responds by shutting down the system and then restarts.
