SW (Switch Integration) Alarms

The following alarms are generated by the SW application and indicate a problem with the switch integration:

SW OVERLAN 1

The system resolves this alarm when the link returns to operation.

A remote switch link has been out of operation too long. When the link is not in operation, the messaging software does not provide call coverage for the remote subscribers.

This alarm is resolved automatically when the link comes up.

SW OVERLAN 4

Description:

A remote switch link has been in service and out of service too frequently. When the link is not in operation, the messaging software does not provide call coverage for remote subscribers.

Repair Procedure:

SW OVERLAN 5

Description:

The host name resolution failed. The system cannot match a host name to an IP address. The messaging software cannot connect to the system with the host name.

Repair Procedure:

SW OVERLAN 6

Description:

The switch rejected the messaging system's session connection attempt. Because of this rejection, the messaging software cannot communicate with the switch. Callers will need to enter an extension number to reach a mailbox. Also, callers are not able to transfer to other destinations.

Repair Procedure:

SW OVERLAN 7

Description:

The switch failed to send an acknowledgment message to the messaging software's request for a session connection within the allowed period of time. Because of this failure, the messaging software cannot establish a link to the switch. If this condition persists, it will lead to a major alarm that indicates that the link is not in operation.

Repair Procedure:

SW OVERLAN 8

Description:

The messaging software sent data to the host switch and did not receive an acknowledgment message within the allowed period of time. This condition can be the result of network delays, a loss in LAN connectivity, or problems with the switch that caused the switch to fail to send the message.

Repair Procedure:

SW OVERLAN 9

Description:

The switch failed to acknowledge the messaging software's keep alive message. A keep alive message is a message that the messaging software sends to the switch during idle periods or after a fixed interval to ensure that the connection is still good. If this condition persists, it will lead to a major alarm that indicates that the link is down.

Repair Procedure:

SW OVERLAN 10

Description:

The software is experiencing internal errors.

Repair Procedure:

SW OVERLAN 11

Description:

The messaging software is unable to use some of its administered values. It cannot obtain the port numbers or IP addresses for the switch.

Repair Procedure:

SW OVERLAN 14

Description:

The switch is sending invalid options to the messaging software, and the options might need to be adjusted on the switch side. The messaging software cannot establish communication with the switch. Since the link is not in operation, the system is not integrated. Callers need to enter an extension number to reach a mailbox. Also, they are not able to transfer to other destinations.

Repair Procedure:
